Medication Management
Program curriculum approved by Health Care Quality Compliance (HCQC) and Commission on Postsecondary Education. The medication aide scope of practice and understanding of Nevada Administrative Code is a core topic.
This program teaches the student the basics of ordering medications, working with the physician and pharmacy, safe handling and passing of medication, and documentation. Hands on skills are taught and skills assessments are required.
Successful completion of the 2-day program and end of course exam with a minimum passing score of 80% will entitle the student to a certificate of completion good for one year.
Med Aides are in great demand in the Group Care and Assisted Living communities. To pursue a position as a Med Aide this training and certificate is required.
